In a significant ceremony held, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori officially presented the staff of office to Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge (SAN), OON, who has been coronated as the 14th Asagba of Asaba. The event took place at the Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba Hall in Asaba, drawing an array of dignitaries, traditional leaders, and members of the community.
During his address, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of inclusiveness in the new Asagba’s reign. He called on Obi Azinge to work diligently to foster peace and unity among the people of Asaba and the broader Delta community. Noting the integral role that traditional rulers play in the governance structure, the Governor highlighted their position as essential intermediaries between the grassroots and governmental bodies, facilitating dialogue and understanding.
Governor Oborevwori expressed his unwavering confidence in Obi Azinge’s leadership capabilities.
